Smart City Pre-Sales Engineer

Commsignia is a leading software and hardware provider in the emerging Vehicle-to-Vehicle and Vehicle-to-Infrastructure (V2X) communication market. We actively participate in research and standardization activities of the industry as well, contributing to the shaping of this technology that we passionately believe in, through which transportation can become safer, more efficient, and more sustainable.
  

Responsibilities:

  • Understand business requirements and be involved in the technical strategy of the accounts
  • Understand and provide complex design and systems engineering configurations to the customers 
  • Work with customers to capture technical requirements to provide customized proposals and quotations 
  • Consistently provide world-class customer service and consultative support during the pre-sales, implementation and post-sales activities 
  • Clearly articulate technical elements of Commsignia's value proposition to customers and partners 
  • Develop technical presentations and know-how to support customers and  the field sales team 
  • Maintain knowledge of competitive landscape and share it with the sales, product management, and marketing teams. Propose innovative technical strategies for these team members
  • Contribute to the creation of case studies, white papers, and media articles for customers 
  • Support the sales process by providing initial technical assistance for the customer to get started with Commsignia products, then assist handover of the customer to our support teams
  • Create and maintain training materials and organize training seminars (online and/or on-site) 
  • Cooperate with clients and provide technical advice on the operation of smart city infrastructure products
  • Work closely together with Commsignia’s software and hardware delivery teams 
  • Assume ownership of the overall technical discussion between the customer and Commsignia teams during the business development process

Requirements:

  • Open to the opportunity to relocate to the East Coast of the United States
  • At least 5+ year experience in similar role 
  • Being able to formulate solid understanding of complex customer requirements related to embedded systems and wireless networks 
  • Hands-on experience in configuration of embedded systems including networking, operating system internals, and applications 
  • Experience working with Linux (OpenWRT is an advantage), networks (wired and wireless) 
  • C/C++/JAVA language basics, HTTP protocols
  • Scripting knowledge (Python, other) 
  • Team player but able to work independently
  • Strong focus on getting things done in an environment where alignment of multiple teams are necessary to complete a task
  • Strong and active command of business English and Hungarian
  • Good communication skills, ability to establish trusted professional relationships with customers
  • Willingness to travel to customers: EU, US, maybe Asia (up to 30%)
  • Driver’s license 

Nice to have:

  • Experience with OpenWRT
  • Knowledge of IT security concepts (PKI, network security, secure architecture concepts)
  • Salesforce experience
